Parent Involvement:Weekends

Weekends are a great time to help out with the school and to influence your child's education. The key to it all is to just spend time with your kids. Reinforce their activities and praise them when they succeed. Spending time with them, whether its reading, doing homework, or just hanging out, has a very positive effect on them.

  • Visit the library together: This encourages reading and literacy, two things that make a great difference in life and education.
  • Set aside time to do homework: Doing homework together shows that you care about education and encourages your kids to do the same.
  • Play games together: Whether it's board games or sports, playing games with your kids is an activity enjoyable for both participants.
  • Teach your child how to do something: Your the parent, and your child looks up to you for that. Teaching your child how to do something will not only teach them a valuable skill, it will also bring you closer together.
